My thoughts were the same as yours about the algae or copper oxide. It's now been a couple more weeks and no other green has shown up. Fortunatly it was only a strip in front of the cooktop and they will seam a new piece in. I just hope it doesn't show up later in other areas. Any answers would be appreciated!
